Summary

Responsible for leading the design of components, assemblies, and systems from concept to production in order to achieve the product specifications and objectives within a specified timeline.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Model and design components and their associated assembly as part of an engineering design team.
• Complete design tasks and projects on-time with emphasis on quality, reliability, timely delivery and cost.
• Determine ideal component manufacturing route to ensure overall design, performance, and cost conformance.
• Work with the team to establish reasonable project development schedules from concept to production, in line with overall business requirements.
• Analyze field problems and recommend and implement solutions.
• Perform other miscellaneous project related assignments.
• 3D design and component development.
• Bill of Material management and supplier selection.
• Assist in the preparation of the monthly project status report.

What it Takes

Excellent communication skills. Thrive on solving problems and working in a team environment with a passion for working on high-performance products. Ideally you have a bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Aeronautical, related discipline and/or equivalent experience.

Qualifications

1. Knowledge of engines and/or marine propulsion.
2. Proficient 3D product modeling experience such as Pro/E
3. Demonstrated time management skills
4. Experience troubleshooting and solving performance issues
5. Ability to work off-shift and after hours to support product launch (minimal)

A strong candidate will also have:

1. Self-motivating personality with a strong desire to advance and exceed expectations
2. Track record of demonstrable engineering design success
3. Pro/ENGINEER proficiency
4. Previous experience working in fast-paced, high-expectation environment
