Engineering Technician

Summary

Responsible for supporting a fast-paced engineering development team with prototype build, test, boat rigging, and production hand assembly responsibilities.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Close working relationship with project and design engineers
  • Test implementation and coordination with failure mode and reporting responsibility
  • Prototype build and development
  • Production assembly build (engines preferred)
  • Prototype fabrication including machining, welding, and fitting
  • Customer service and in-field repair as required
  • Development support responsibilities
  • Other product development, testing, and production type responsibilities

Excellent hands-on development and assembly skills. Thrive in a fast-paced team environment with the ability to work with tight deadlines and high expectations. Seeking a self-motivated fast learner with a demonstrated background in mechanical hands-on proficiency.

Qualifications

  1. Knowledge of engines and/or marine propulsion
  2. Proficient hands-on fabrication and assembly skills
  3. Boat rigging experience preferred
  4. Engineering development and test implementation and reporting experience
  5. Demonstrated time management skills
  6. Experience troubleshooting and solving performance issues
  7. Ability to work off-shift and after hours to support product launch (minimal)

A strong candidate will also have:

  1. Self-motivating personality with a strong desire to advance and exceed expectations
  2. Welding and machining capabilities
  3. Computer and electronics proficiency
  4. Racing or other high-performance hobbies
